11. srpna 2006 se Facebook otevřel veřejnosti a každý si tedy mohl zaregistrovat svůj účet. Od té doby se Facebook začal stále více rozšiřovat.
Kdo by tehdy řekl, že dosáhne čísla 750 miliónů registrovaných účtů. Dnes je na Facebooku skoro každý a říká se, že je jako droga. Většině lidí značně ovlivnil život. Lidé závodí kdo nasbírá nejvíce přátel, které většinou nikdy neviděli a vůbec je neznají.
Proč může být Facebook nebezpečný?
Málo kdo to ví, že každý uživatel při registraci zároveň potvrdil, že naprosto vše co na Facebook nahraje je ihned majetkem Facebooku a on si s ním může dělat vše co se mu zalíbí. To ale není důvod, proč by měl být facebook nebezpečný. Je to spíše nevýhoda smlouvy, kterou jste při registraci potvrdily.
Prvním důvodem, proč je facebook nebezpečný je dle mého sdílení. Na Facebooku se totiž sdílí každá maličkost. Soukromí jde nastavit v profilu, ale jen v omezené míře a navíc to drtivá většina lidí nedělá a nechá svůj profil plně veřejný. To ale způsobuje řadu problémů. Lidé na Facebooku o sobě sice vědí více informací, ale to je ten problém. Tisícům možná i statisícům lidí už Facebook zničil život kvůli tomu že tam vložili něco co vůbec nechtěly nebo si neuvědomily, že by to vlastně nikdo neměl vědět a za pár hodin se to třeba rozšířilo mezi stovky lidí.
Druhý důvod je kyberšikana.
Pro ty, co nevědí co to je tak je to to samé jako klasická (reálná) šikana, akorát se vše děje na internetu. Kyberšikana samozřejmě byla i když Facebook ještě neexistoval, ale v mnohem menší míře. Tehdy útočník mohl svou oběť citově vydírat maximálně přes nějaký soukromý chat, email, forum nebo své webové stránky. Facebook je ale pro kyberšikanu jako stvořený. Díky tomu, že se tam vše sdílí může útočník veřejně zesměšnit nebo citově vydírat danou osobu a během pár hodin se to dozví stovky lidí. Obzvlášť když má útočník třeba nějaké citlivé fotky oběti a zveřejní je. V tu chvíli je to pro oběť nejhorší den svého života a můžou pomyslet i na sebevraždu!
Na druhou stranu ale mohou lidé například najít svého kamaráda nebo spolužáka, kterého 20 let neviděli a mohou být neustále v kontaktu.
